I finally received this knife after a ONE YEAR wait. Stupidly long? Yes. Was it worth it? Well, like all emerson knives… yes! Craftsmanship is outstanding and this is a wickedly sharp blade. It is currently my EDC [giving my mini-commander a rest]. I especially like the fact that it is a full-size grip on a smaller blade. It has the wave feature, which is definitely fast and the micarta scales are very grippy… almost abrasive-feeling to the hand [not a bad thing, imo]. The ergos on the grip are great, almost as nice as my commander. It fills my hand well and feels great. Positive locking + beefy construction instills a log of confidence in the very stubby blade. I have no doubt that this knife would put up with abuse and come back for more. My only complaint is the abusrdly long wait time. One year for a folding knife? come on, now! That is way too long for any kind of production fulfillment. I realize that Emerson Knives are crafted extremely well and are fit for hard use, but it's not like I asked Ernie to make me a custom piece. this is a *production* knife, not a one-off custom. Coupled with the fact that Emerson had no solid information on fulfillment dates for one year, I'd have to give it a four out of five. The knife is well-constructed, sharp and pretty darned cool. Emerson just needs to kick up production so a buyer doesn't wait 12 months for something that should be "off the shelf."
