Like the swords of the Spanish Conquistadors, the Cold Steel® Espada™ Medium is both a thing of beauty and a formidable tool. The highlight list of these amazing spanish styled "folding swords" goes on and on much like the triumphs of the Conquistadors and the original Espada (sword) they carried.

Starting from the business end of the smallest... wait - can you call an 8 1/2 inch knife with a 3 1/2 inch blade small? Well smallest Cold Steel® Espada™ anyway. Ok back to the knife. The highly functional and artistic upswept clip point blade is made of Japanese AUS 8A Stainless Steel that has been hollow ground to a razor thin cutting edge that just screams out at you "start slicing something with me". The blade is vaccuum heat-treated and sub-zero quenched, creating superior hardness and great edge retention.

The handle of the Cold Steel® Espada™ Medium is a heavily curved pistol grip with highly polished G-10 scales capped at both ends with stunning CNC machined 7075 Aluminum bolsters. The Espada™ Medium frame was also CNC machined with 7075 Aluminum billits that rival Titanium in strength giving the Cold Steel® Espada™ Medium an impressive backbone of strength and durability.

If that is not enough to make you want to put the Cold Steel® Espada™ Medium in your hand then you have more willpower than I do. Just to add some icing on the cake, Cold Steel® decided to add to the lure of the Espada™ by using thier multi-patented Tri-Ad™ Lock. This lock is unsurpassed in resisting positive, negative and impact pressure. So if you're slashing, cutting, chopping, piercing, chiseling or simply wacking on the back of the spine with a log the pressure will be passed along to the stop pin and then into the whole handle frame. How sweet is that!

The Cold Steel® Espada™ is a design collaboration in more ways than one. The design and ingenuity of custom knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel® President Lynn C.
