Becker Companion, Black GFN Handle, Black Blade, Plain by Becker

If you are looking for an all around tough knife for gutting, skinning, prying, banging, chopping, splitting that you can keep in your truck and a knife that is still made in the USA with carbon steel, this is your knife! Don't get me wrong, I have several Bucks including the venerable 110 folder and the 145, but the Becker BK-2 is a work horse. I've made tinder from bark, chopped small branches, punched holes in soup cans, pryed open fences, cut rubber. When the edge got dull, I used an old wetstone and touched it up and sharp once again that I can shave the hair off my arms. It even has steel pommel with a hole drilled for a lanyard rope and thumb guide. I was so impressed with this stout knife that I purchased a BK-7 and BK-9. My only complaint about the Becker BK-2 is the handle. It is not that comfortable and is slippery when wet. If the handle was micarta, wood or some other material, it would be the pefect knife. However, given that your getting a USA made high carbon steel knife that is stout and durable for about $60, you can't go too wrong. I gave this one a four rating due to the handle. Change the handle and you'll have a 5 star knife

I belong to a volunteer Emergency Rescue Team. We do search and rescue right after a hurricane. I wanted a Becker Companion after seeing one used to cut thru a trailer to save a senior citizen. It wasnt in stock when I ordered it, but Crocblades out did themselves in customer service. They contacted me right away and kept me informed on product delivery. The item arrived in great condition. I was more than pleased and very excited to finaly have my first becker!!!! The customer service was great. I ordered on a friday around 10pm it processed tuesday night and was here thursday morning! This is the best price I found on the BK2 as well. All in all wounderful experiance with crocblades and my knife. I will be using this company again!!!
